Chelsea are looking to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot in the near future and looking at ways they can get a deal over the line for the player.

The Blues are keen to improve their midfield options with many of their players either ageing or out of contract at the end of the season.

N’Golo Kante and Jorginho are in the final months of their contracts at Stamford Bridge and are yet to agree to new terms, with talks having stalled for some time.

Now, Chelsea are prepared to make a deal for Rabiot, and Hakim Ziyech could be a part of the transfer, with the Moroccan going the other way.

Swap deal could be on the cards

According to Football Italia, the Blues have been open to selling Ziyech, as they were in the summer, but only want to make a permanent transfer and not a loan move.

Italian champions Milan were linked with a move for the player over the summer, but they only proposed a loan deal, which Chelsea refused.

According to reports, Ziyech’s representatives met with Milan last week to discuss a possible transfer and would be open to making a move after the World Cup.

However, with Chelsea now reigniting their interest in Rabiot, there could be another Serie A club that Ziyech could be making a move to.

Calciomercato suggest Ziyech could be involved in a deal which would take him to Allianz Stadium, with Rabiot going the other way.

There is also a belief that Rabiot has asked to leave Juventus and the club themselves would be open to selling, wanting around £15 million for a transfer.

A straight swap between Ziyech and Rabiot, however, would probably mean a loss for the London club as Ziyech still has three years left on his contract, while Rabiot is in the final few months.

How this deal pans out remains to be seen but it’s clear that both clubs are willing to let go of their respective players and that a transfer is a real possibility.
