Arsenal will have to treble Martinelli's wages to keep him
Arsenal are set to make Gabriel Martinelli one of the club’s top earners after his fine start to the season and it has become one of the club’s priorities.
Martinelli has been great so far this campaign and his latest performance saw him score in the 3-2 win over Liverpool at the weekend, keeping the Gunners’ lead at the top of the Premier League.
The 21-year-old is becoming one of the top young talents in European football and Arsenal have begun negotiations with Martinelli’s representatives over a new deal.
The mouth-watering offer will be hard to turn down and put off any clubs interested in taking the Brazilian away from the Emirates Stadium.
Martinelli set for wage spike
Martinelli’s new contract is set to see him earn £200,000-a-week – almost tripling his current salary of £70,000-per-week and making it hard for rivals to match.
As of now, neither Arsenal nor Martinelli and his representatives are in a rush to get the deal over the line and they are calm over negotiations.
Martinelli is settled in London and doesn’t plan to move away from Arsenal – he is finding his feet under Mikel Arteta this season after a few complicated years initially with the Gunners.
Gabriel Jesus and Thomas Partey are understood to be Arsenal's highest earners, both on in-excess of £200,000-per-week, and Martinelli is set to join them high on the list.

Arsenal are also in talks with Bukayo Saka about a new contract, with the England star also set to earn close to £200,000-per-week, joining Martinelli.
The Gunners have had an excellent start to the season, sitting top of the league with just one defeat all campaign against Manchester United.
Martinelli, meanwhile, has started the season with four goals and two assists in 11 appearances so far this campaign and is optimistic of keeping that run going.
