Chelsea owner and interim sporting director Todd Boehly is reportedly keen to explore the potential of signing Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe, 23, has recently fallen out with PSG, citing the club's failure to keep promises made to him when he signed a new contract as a key reason for his desire to leave.

The France international reportedly chose PSG over a free transfer move to Real Madrid due to the club's project, but their failure to sign a recognised striker is said to have played a major part in his wish to depart the Parc des Princes.

Mbappe recently posted an Instagram story with the caption #PivotGang, referring to the fact he wants to play alongside a striker at club level rather than be the focal point himself. It's believed that playing with Olivier Giroud at international level has sparked Mbappe's desire to replicate this relationship at club level too, albeit not with Giroud himself, but a player in his ilk.

Therefore, PSG's failure to land Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo this summer could be costly, with the Italy international joining West Ham United instead, despite heavy interest from the French giants.

Mbappe's behavioural problems will reportedly not be an issue for potential suitors, and according to GiveMeSport, Boehly would love to bring Mbappe to Stamford Bridge.

Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were both purchased by Chelsea over the summer transfer window, but it appears that Boehly isn't done with fixing the Blues' forward line with news that Mbappe is on his radar.

PSG themselves have set their stance that Mbappe isn't for sale, but reports suggest that a bid upwards of £300 million could tempt the Parisians into selling their most valuable asset.

What has been said?

Journalist Pete O'Rouke told GiveMeSport: "I think Chelsea will be one of those clubs who will be linked with Mbappe.

"I'm sure Todd Boehly would love to make such a marquee signing as Mbappe just to really stamp his mark on the club."

Mbappe has already netted 12 goals in 14 games during the 2022/23 campaign, just three less than Chelsea have managed collectively in their nine Premier League games so far this term.

However, with PSG likely to remain stubborn in their stance that Mbappe isn't for sale, then it will take a mammoth bid for Chelsea to land the Frenchman before his contract expires in 2025.
