Revealed: Cristiano Ronaldo’s enormous Man Utd fine
Cristiano Ronaldo infamously walked out of Manchester United’s 2-0 victory over Tottenham on Wednesday, increasing his personal turmoil at Old Trafford and resulting in a monster fine, according to the Daily Star.
If Ronaldo wanted to make a statement with his decision to march down the tunnel and out of Old Trafford after refusing the instruction of manager Erik ten Hag to go onto the field in the Premier League match, the message was not the one that he wanted.
Ten Hag fines Ronaldo two week's wages
He now faces the consequences of his action. Publicly, the club have stated that Ronaldo will not be picked for Saturday’s Premier League encounter against Chelsea, although ESPN reports that he could come back into contention for the midweek clash against FC Sheriff in the Europa League, one of two teams he has scored against this season.

Privately, meanwhile, Ronaldo faces a stinging fine of £1 million, equivalent to two weeks of his wages, according to the Star.
The report goes on to state that Ronaldo was made to apologise to his team-mates by Ten Hag, who is known to be big on discipline and has already shown that he will not back down to the ego of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
The Dutchman previously elected to go soft on the striker when he left a pre-season friendly with Rayo Vallecano prematurely, but with this second offence he has taken a notably harsher line on the case. After the summer incident, Ten Hag went public with his unhappiness with the striker as he branded his behaviour “unacceptable” after senior figures in the club had tried to cover up the incident.

Ronaldo now appears likely to push for a move in the January transfer window, but while his prospects of finding a club appear better than in the summer, there is still no obvious exit route from his Manchester United nightmare.
