Another blow for Cristiano Ronaldo finding a new club
Cristiano Ronaldo’s hopes of finding a new club have taken another blow ahead of the January window as Diego Simeone ruled out the chance of Atletico Madrid signing him.
Ronaldo issued a transfer request this past summer at the start of July.
The 37-year-old cited his desire to join a club that is in the Champions League and could challenge for major trophies.

His agent Jorge Mendes offered him out to numerous clubs around Europe, including Chelsea, PSG, Napoli, Roma, Bayern and Atletico Madrid without finding a taker.
For a while, Atletico appeared to be the most credible option but their manager Simeone has played down those rumours.
Simeone plays down Ronaldo talk
"I never talked to Cristiano Ronaldo to come here, never,” Simeone said.
"Just like I don't see myself training Real Madrid, I don't see Cristiano at Atletico Madrid either.”
Ronaldo is still understood to want to leave Manchester United in January.
However, as it stands, there is still no concrete interest in the veteran.
It doesn’t help that Ronaldo has only scored two goals in 2022-23, a penalty in the Europa League against Sheriff and just one goal in the Premier League.
He has also mainly featured as a substitute for Man Utd, although he did start the last two matches.
There had been an improvement in his relationship with manager Erik ten Haag recently until he showed an angry reaction to being taken off against Newcastle on Sunday.
