Tammy Abraham refuses to rule out Chelsea return

Tammy Abraham is at Roma and has had a good 15 months at the club, doing well in Jose Mourinho’s tenure and even earning a return to Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
Abraham joined Roma in the summer of 2021 after struggling to get game time at Chelsea, and has starred for Roma, spurring them to a first European success in the form of the Conference League.
There have recently been rumours about a return to Chelsea, as the Blues have needed a new forward following the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner from them this season.
Now, Abraham has spoken on a possible return to the Blues, but remains coy on what his future plans are with Roma and with his career.

“For me, my focus is to do exactly what I did last year. I’m happy here. The team is good,” Abraham told Ojb Sport after Roma’s 2-1 loss over Real Betis last night in the Europa League.
“The manager is good. The city, the fans…I am happy, but you never know the future, only God knows the future,” the Englishman added.
Chelsea gave Abraham a break in his career, and they loaned him out several times early in his life in football for him to build experience away from Stamford Bridge.

He shone for periods of Frank Lampard’s tenure in 2019-20, and as a result, they included a buy-back clause when they sold him to the Serie A club, as they were aware of his talents.
That gives them first refusal if Roma are to sell him at any point in the future, however, the fee Chelsea will have to fork out will be quite high, making him one of their biggest-ever transfers.
It’s reported that the buy-back clause is worth €80 million and the Blues can activate it in the summer of 2023, which is double of what they sold him for last year.
