Brighton star Leandro Trossard has had a flying start to this season, and he added to it over the weekend with a fine hat-trick against Liverpool at Anfield.

Playing in new manager Roberto De Zerbi’s first game in charge of the club, Trossard stood out with a few well taken goals, and speculation has risen about his future at the club.

Brighton are well-regarded for their long-term planning and ability to spot talent several years in advance, and Trossard has been one of them, having shone in the Premier League for the club.

Now, after a few years of consistency under managers like Graham Potter, the league’s best clubs are eyeing up a deal for the player and could make a move for him soon.

Trossard talks about future

Trossard’s contract at the Amex Stadium runs out at the end of the current season, but Brighton to have the option to extend his stay for a further year, which they are set to take up.

The likes of Chelsea and Arsenal are monitoring the situation regardless, with a view to taking the player away from the Seagulls in the near future in order to strengthen their squads.

Trossard, though, is staying coy about his future and remains positive about what the next few months will bring at Brighton under De Zerbi.

"It’s difficult to say anything about that now," he told the Monday Night Club, when he was asked about his future at the club.

"It completely depends on which club would come. If I feel good and things are good on a private level… but I also know how good I am at Brighton, also with new coach Roberto De Zerbi it looks promising," the Belgian added.

It was believed that he would follow Potter out of Brighton and to Chelsea when the manager moved to Stamford Bridge, but so far, nothing of that sort has panned out.

"Our coach did leave for Chelsea now but speculation about me following him makes no sense. If the opportunity arises, I want to go. But I want to play and not sit on the bench," he said in the past

Arsenal also remain interested as they admire his versatility and the qualities he brings to the club when needed, while Manchester United were looking at him in the summer.
