Who is Chelsea’s next transfer target after Nkunku?

Chelsea are set to complete a deal for RB Leipzig attacker Christopher Nkunku in 2023, ending a long pursuit of the player, but the Blues are not going to be done there.
They want to build a young group of players for the long run, as evident by many of their transfers this past summer, and that theme is set to continue.
Nkunku was their priority target and they wanted a deal done in the summer, but that was difficult after the player signed a new deal at the start to stay for, at least, this season.

Now, business is set to continue and they are working on a second deal for next year: that of Russian midfielder Arsen Zakharyan, the 19-year-old highly-touted Dinamo Moscow midfielder.

This comes from journalist Dean Jones, who says: “What we know is the Nkunku deal is being pushed through, there’s also the deal for Zakharyan that is being viewed as a priority.
“So those two are good and likely transfers that will happen, anything else I think is going to probably rely on some players moving out first.”

Chelsea are in desperate need of midfielder in the coming windows as they’re set to lose both N’Golo Kante and Jorginho at the end of the season, with their contracts expiring.
Chelsea wanted Zakharyan in the summer but were unable to get a deal done over the line in time, with the window coming to a close before they could complete the move.
Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Arsen Zakharyan on long term contract and that is sealed since last summer, negotiations with Dinamo Moscow will continue to complete the deal in 2023. 🔵 #CFC

The 19-year-old has been identified as smart long-term investment and the Blues would be keen to agree a deal as soon as possible, with interest in him slowly rising from clubs across Europe.
Manager Graham Potter has been known to improve young players and there’s a feeling he could do the same with Zakharyan should he move to Stamford Bridge.
