Dalot's Costa praise hints at longer Man Utd stay
Manchester United have been linked with a move for Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa, and his international team-mate Diogo Dalot has been speaking about it.
The comments from Dalot could be seen as an indication that he could be staying at Manchester United for a while, amid interest from clubs abroad.
The likes of Barcelona, Roma and Milan have all been linked with a move for Dalot, but there’s a belief he’ll stay for at least a further year.

Now, he may stay at the club for a long time as he thinks Costa – who has been frequently linked with a move – could be one of the best.
Dalot heaps praise on Costa
Speaking to RTP, he said: “Diogo Costa is already one of the best in the world. He will be a reference, or even the reference, worldwide.”
He then spoke about his own time at the club: “I started the season well and I’m having a lot of playing time. I want to demonstrate that I have the capacity to remain at this level, I want to be even better.”

Dalot has been talking about his pride at being a first-team regular in this campaign, telling The Times earlier in the campaign: “Being a starter in every game with Ten Hag makes me proud. I see it as an extra responsibility.
It shows that the coach has confidence in me, I want to pay it back and be a reliable and important player for the team. That is what I’ve been fighting for these years.
“After a good pre-season, but a bad start to two games, we had to click and realise that it was a long season, a different season with a World Cup.

“We still have to improve as a team, in terms of the connection between coach and players, the connection between players and fans – which I think is happening.”
What Dalot does from here remains to be seen and it’s still unclear whether Costa himself will make a move to Manchester United soon, but there are plenty of options on the table.
