Man Utd, Chelsea scouts amongst those in attendance for Ajax vs. PSV
Clubs across Europe have been paying keen attention to the Dutch Eredivisie in recent times as the Netherlands is producing some top talents.
That was evident over the weekend as it’s been reported that over half of the Premier League clubs had scouts in attendance to watch Ajax take on PSV in a top-of-the-table clash, according to 90min.
PSV ended up winning 2-1 as Luuk de Jong and Erick Gutierrez scored, but scouts would’ve been impressed by other performances on the night.

Both clubs have some excellent players on their squads across various ages, and would’ve liked what they saw from some of them in particular.

Most eyes were on Cody Gakpo, and he impressed as he provided the assist for De Jong’s goal to open the scoring that evening.
Gakpo has been of interest to many clubs over the last year including Manchester United and Arsenal and considering his great form this season, a move may not be too far away.

It’s believed that Chelsea and Everton were keeping an eye on the Ajax duo of Mohamed Kudus and Edson Alvarez, both of whom have bright futures.
Chelsea wanted to sign Alvarez in the summer but were too late in getting a deal over the line, but are expected to come back for him in the summer.
Kudus, meanwhile, was close to a move to Everton before Ajax rejected the offer and they have given him more first team chances since.
PSV’s midfield duo of Ibrahim Sangare and goalscorer Gutierrez were also watched – the likes of West Ham United and Leeds United have been linked with moves for both.
Cody Gakpo is the first player in top-flight European football to be directly involved in 30 goals in 2022/23:

Additionally, they will have been impressed by former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain player Xavi Simons, who has grown to stardom in Ruud van Nistelrooy’s team this season.
Newcastle United, Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Leicester were amongst the other Premier League clubs that had scouts present at the fixture.
