Manchester United are considering the sacking of Cristiano Ronaldo after his controversial interview with Piers Morgan was released over the week.
Ronaldo was critical of the club’s structure, manager Erik ten Hag and former players from the club and the club have said they are looking into the matter.
According to the Daily Mail, the club are set to sack Ronaldo for breach of contract and won’t have to provide a pay-off to get him released.

However, there is a plan in place if in case Ronaldo refuses the sacking and it could lead to an even bigger legal mess in the near future.

Ronaldo has wanted to leave Manchester United for a while and the interview is the latest one in a big line of problems that have hampered his relationship with the club.
In October, he refused to come on as a substitute in a match against Tottenham Hotspur and was suspended from the first-team for three days as a result.

His relationship with manager Ten Hag has been frosty for a long while and that has led to Ronaldo claiming he was being disrespected and wants to leave.
Now, if the sacking is refused, Manchester United may attempt to have a compromise to get him released or even take the idea off the table entirely before the situation turns into a legal mess.
Manchester United have been considering legal options to understand how to best deal with the situation and all options are being considered before a decision is to be made.

It’s believed they’ve asked Ronaldo not to return to their Carrington training ground once his participation in the World Cup with Portugal is complete.
It’s unclear where Ronaldo will play his football if he is sacked – interest in him has been little and it’s not even certain if he’ll continue in Europe in the future.
