The Belgian international has struggled with form and fitness since leaving the Blues to join Real Madrid back in 2019 and is said to be ready to leave Los Blancos as early as the January transfer window.

Despite Karim Benzema's injury troubles this campaign, Hazard has featured in just three of Real Madrid's 13 league games in the 2022/23 season so far, with Carlo Ancelotti not favouring the 31-year-old.

As a result, he's been linked with a transfer away in a bid to end his torrid time at Santiago Bernabeu and kickstart his career back into action.

According to reports in Belgium, Hazard himself has already informed Real Madrid and Belgium team-mate Thibaut Courtois that he intends to leave Los Blancos during the January transfer window following the conclusion of the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Furthermore, several teams have emerged as potential destinations for the former Chelsea star. El Nacional have reported that Newcastle and Aston Villa are both interested in signing Hazard, despite his injury problems.

Hazard to Newcastle?

Newcastle are reportedly the club most heavily interested in signing the Belgian, with Eddie Howe's side said to be keen to resurrect Hazard's career by bringing him to St James' Park.

According to El Nacional, Newcastle are willing to table an offer of €20 million to sign Hazard, which is an amount that might tempt Real Madrid, despite it representing a huge loss on the money they paid Chelsea to sign him in 2019.

Hazard's current deal at Real Madrid is due to expire in 2024, meaning the Spanish giants have a limited amount of time left to sell him before he becomes a free agent.

Hazard would likely compete with Allan Saint-Maximin for a place in Newcastle's starting XI and would provide top-level experience to a side hoping to become European challengers.
