Anthony Martial was not selected for France’s World Cup squad and has been training with Manchester United to keep up his fitness in this period.

He is one of a few senior players staying behind and training with the rest of those not selected for the World Cup, but things aren’t going to plan.

Despite Didier Deschamps’ France squad suffering from a host of injuries – including one to Karim Benzema – they have opted against adding in more players.

Now, at training while others are away, Martial has been fuming because of a training ground bust-up…with one of the club’s academy players.

Martial involved in bust-up

In training with Manchester United, they have been mixing senior players who aren’t at the World Cup with those coming through the youth squad.

As a result, Martial faced a strong challenge from Dan Gore – the 18-year-old coming through the club’s ranks – and he wasn’t best pleased about it.

Martial lashed out after the challenge and caught Gore – eight years his junior – in an episode of rage, but Gore stood his ground and didn’t back down.

The pair had to be separated by manager Erik ten Hag and were asked to cool off before the boss told Gore slide tackles were off limits in first-team training.

Martial later apologized to gore and the matter was settled as the training session went ahead as normal with the rest of the team remaining calm.

Martial has had a good start to the season but has been troubled by a few injury concerns in recent times which has forced him to miss a chunk of the campaign thus far.

He has made seven appearances in all competitions and has scored four goals and provided two assists in that time, responding well to the change in manager as Ten Hag has come in.
