'Cristiano Ronaldo could decide to retire'

Cristiano Ronaldo is without a club for the first time in his professional career after his contract at Manchester United was terminated earlier this month.

Ronaldo was the subject of an unsanctioned interview with Piers Morgan where he criticized the club, owners and manager and that was his final act at Manchester United.

That resulted to the agreement of a mutual termination of his contract and he has been without a club, with no clear indication of where he’ll be playing his football next.

Former Manchester Untied left-back and team-mate Patrice Evra has been talking about his future and is unsure how long the Portuguese will continue in the game.

Evra discusses Ronaldo's future

Evra said he doesn’t discuss Ronaldo’s future with him and only talks about aspects beyond the pitch, but admits there’s a possibility he may be retire.

"When I talk to him I don't speak about what he is doing next, we are talking more about life and family. I don't know. I don't know if Ronaldo will retire," Evra said to Sky Sports.

"Sometimes when you have got all of those critics, and especially at the end of your career, you are like 'ok, I think it is time to stop'. Especially when you are not in the starting XI with your national team, because Cristiano wanted to play and to be fit.

"To win the World Cup with his country was his dream. Now he doesn't have that dream. I won't talk for Cristiano but I won't be surprised if he says 'I'll retire', because now everything Cristiano Ronaldo does - he's a bad person, he's a bad player whatever. I wouldn't be surprised if he decides to retire."

Ronaldo’s most likely destination is Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, who have reportedly made a mega offer to sign him, but nothing has been finalized as of yet.
