Liverpool unlikely to move for €30m World Cup star
Liverpool are unlikely to make a move for Morocco’s World Cup hero Sofyan Amrabat despite links to him in recent weeks over a January move.
Amrabat has had a heroic World Cup so far, and it will carry on into the semi-finals as Morocco beat Portugal in the quarter-final to become the first African nation to progress that far.
He had immense roles in Morocco’s group stage progression and then again in their wins over Spain and Portugal, which has led to links for a move away.

Now, it’s emerged that Liverpool are unlikely to make a move for him in the January transfer window and that other clubs may be interested.
Amrabat attracting interest
Liverpool had a tough start to the season but their form slightly picked up as they approached the World Cup break and want to strengthen their team in the middle of the season.
Their midfield is quite thin with options being either ageing, struggling for fitness or not performing well enough and they want to improve in that regard.

Amrabat has been linked with a move, with the 26-year-old’s consistency and quality deeply admired at Fiorentina and many feeling he could bring a defensive solidity and physical presence to the team.
Transfer expert Dean Jones said about a move: “I’d be surprised over this one given they’ve got Harvey Elliott coming in, they’ve got Carvalho, they’ve got other players that I think mean that they don’t need to go down this route.”

Amrabat will be a man in demand after the World Cup with the likes of Liverpool’s Premier League rivals Tottenham also interested in signing the player, and there may be a transfer battle for him in January.
Where he ends up remains to be seen but it’s believed that Amrabat will cost around €30 million to prize him away from Fiorentina.
