‘Man Utd’s new leader’ – Twitter reacts as Rashford gives dream response
Marcus Rashford had an eventful day for Manchester United, from being dropped to the bench against Wolves to grabbing the winning goal, thereby cementing his status as the Red Devils’ go-to player for the moment.
Rashford is up to six Premier League strikes for the season, yet the England international had been dumped to the bench by manager Erik ten Hag for what were described as “disciplinary reasons”.

The striker later revealed that he had slept in and missed a team meeting, yet doubts remain over his long-term future at the Red Devils, who recently triggered a one-year extension to his contract, which now expires in 2024.
PSG and Real Madrid have taken an interest in the 25-year-old forward, but Manchester United will be increasingly eager to tie him down on a long-term basis after he answered his critics in emphatic style.
Indeed, Man Utd fans appear willing for the forward to be offered a contract for life.

Meanwhile, Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag won more praise for his handling of the situation.
A triple victory for Ten Hag: reasserted his authority, the disciplined player responded and #mufc won. Back in top four for the first time since March.
