The Telegraph reports that Manchester United are weighing up the possibility of moving for Kudus in the January transfer window, though they likely face competition from several other sources.

Liverpool and Tottenham have both been following the player, but Everton have a long-standing interest in the Ajax star, who shone with Ghana during their brief 2022 World Cup campaign.

The 22-year-old is set to be a major January transfer target for several clubs, with FootballTransfers valuing the player at €9 million – a value that has raced up since the start of the season.

Football transfer expert Ben Jacobs has exclusively revealed that Kudus is eager to move to the Premier League.

“The first thing to stay is that Ajax want to keep the player. That will be a factor in the negotiations,” he explained.

“But the second thing to add is that he would really like a move to the Premier League. Growing up he watched a lot of Premier League football, he saw the appeal of the league and should a Premier League club calling, I think Ajax are going to have a battle on their hands to keep him.

“Everton have looked at him. Frank Lampard is a big fan. He sees Kudus as playing as a forward rather than that previous role as a midfielder but there is that option for both. The form with his club is what sold him to Everton at the beginning of the season. They had him on their radar in January 2022. They moved in the summer but it was rejected.

“The challenge for Everton is that the World Cup will add some Champions League suitors. Liverpool will be seriously exploring a bid. I know that Tottenham are looking at him as well. But Everton are more advanced because they approached the player last January. Is that enough to make them front runners? Potentially, but if someone else chooses to bid, they can offer European football and a lot more.

“Liverpool and Spurs have not made any club-to-club contact, but they have scouted him.”

Man Utd, meanwhile, will hope that Erik ten Hag’s presence at the club gives them the edge should they decide to make a January approach.
