PSG still hoping for Rashford transfer
Paris Saint-Germain are still “hoping” to sign Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, football transfers expert Ben Jacobs has told FootballTransfers.
Rashford is locked in contract talks with the Old Trafford side, with his deal at the Red Devils due to expire in the summer.
Although it is possible that Man Utd will trigger a one-year extension in his deal that will prevent him from becoming a free agent in 2023, if no new contract is put in place then there is a strong possibility that he could be sold.
Indeed, if there is no movement in this case before 1 January, Rashford can start talking to overseas clubs.

PSG have been tracking the England international, who has three goals at World Cup 2022, since the summer and he continues to be a legitimate transfer target for them
“They’re still very much in the mix and hoping for Rashford,” Jacobs said.
“I think they feel that they’re being a bit used over Rashford by the player’s side. The intent is to get the player to sign a new Manchester United deal, which is his preference. But PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is certainly not ruling Rashford out. He’s had a great World Cup.”
Rashford move could hinge on Messi and Mbappe
The situation could develop over the course of the January transfer window on both sides of the Channel.
While Rashford could sign a new contract with Manchester United, PSG’s desire to complete a transfer hinges on the decisions of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe over their futures. If one or both depart, then an additional striker is a necessity.
Goncalo Ramos, the Benfica forward who has also been on Manchester United’s transfer shortlist, is also an option for the Parc des Princes club, who came close to signing in the summer.
“They are looking to add more young talent to their front line and they almost got a deal done but couldn’t quite get it over the line,” Jacobs added.
PSG, meanwhile, are due to open contract talks with Messi after the World Cup, while Mbappe has appeared more settled at the club in recent weeks after a dispute over the timing of his wage payments left him angry.
