Arsenal have joined the race to sign Napoli sensation Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

The Gunners are in the market for a top-class winger and had expected to sign Mykhailo Mudryk this month.

However, a deal for the Shakhtar Dontesk star was hijacked by Chelsea - with the 21-year-old completing a move to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Arsenal have subsequently begun looking elsewhere at other winger targets.

Barcelona’s Raphinha and Ferran Torres are possibilities but 90min claims that Arsenal are also considering a move for Kvaratskhelia.

FootballTransfers understands that there is zero possibility of Kvaratskhelia leaving in January, with Napoli on track to win a first Scudetto since 1990.

A transfer in the summer is more of a possibility but would cost more than €100 million, given Kvaratskhelia’s brilliance this season.

The 21-year-old winger moved to Napoli from Dinamo Batumi in the summer for €10 million – and that already looks like the bargain of the season.

Kvaratskhelia has been the best player in Serie A this season and has already scored nine goals and assisted 10 in all competitions.

He has delivered a string of brilliant performances, including tearing Juventus apart 5-1 on Sunday and Liverpool 4-1 in the Champions League in September.

It has quickly become clear that this is a truly special player in the making, and he has been christened ‘Kvaradona’ by Napoli fans after legend Diego Maradona.

The winger’s form has led Napoli to the top of Serie A, nine points clear of Milan in second. They have also been arguably the best team in the Champions League so far, topping their group above Liverpool.

They play Eintracht Frankfurt in the last-16 in February.
