‘If we don’t sign, we’re finished’ – Liverpool react to 3-0 Brighton defeat
Liverpool hit a major low point on Saturday as they were crushed 3-0 away to Brighton in the Premier League, leaving fans questioning the direction of the club under FSG and even manager Jurgen Klopp.
The Reds failed to muster a shot on target in the first half, and though they did manage two in the second, a double from Solly March and a late strike from Danny Welbeck gave Albion a surprisingly easy win.
Consequently, Liverpool are eighth in the Premier League table, two points behind Brighton and, crucially, seven off the Champions League spots.
With Klopp having previously admitted that signings to add to that of Cody Gakpo earlier in January are unlikely, the Reds are teetering on the brink of a crisis.
Twitter reactions to Brighton 3-0 Liverpool
Certainly, fans on Twitter believe that transfers are necessary if the club is to improve.
We barely touched the ball at all, just awful performance by everyone. We need THREE new midfielders because our current midfield is simply non-existant

Liverpool need a new midfielder quickly and badly.

There’s nothing to be happy about if we don’t make a signing we are finished

All fine though, happy with the squad, don't need any investment from FSG :)

all right then, klopp said we don't need midfielders

I don’t wanna hear Klopp complain about FSG when they bought Nunez and Gakpo with the money we did spend instead of on midfield reinforcements. Anyone with eyes can see Henderson and Fabinho are washed and he does nothing about it.
