Revealed: Liverpool have €50m option on Portuguese star
Liverpool have had a tough start to the season and need signings to help improve their midfield and have a positive second half to the season.
The Reds’ most recent result was a 3-1 defeat to Brentford where they were convincingly beaten and could well have conceded more.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have struggled in midfield with injuries and age affecting their side and they will need reinforcements to strengthen their team.

Now, they are looking at Wolves midfielder Matheus Nunes, who only signed for the Midlands club in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool have Matheus Nunes option
Nunes signed for Wolves in a £44 million deal and has regularly played for their first team this season, being an important part of the midfield.
Liverpool were interested in signing Nunes in the summer but were unwilling to pay such a high price for him when he was still at Sporting in Portugal.

They have a good relationship with Gestifute, Nunes’ agency, having worked with them on several occasions to sign players including Fabinho, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez.
They also have a good relationship with Wolves, having worked with them to sign Jota in 2020, with Ki-Jana Hoever going the other way and there is encouragement a deal can happen at some point.
Liverpool have an option to sign Nunes for €50 million, a similar fee to what Wolves paid, and that is a deal that would improve their midfield significantly.
However, a deal in January seems unlikely given that Nunes has already played for two clubs in this campaign and FIFA rules prohibit players from playing for more than two in official matches in a single season.
Nunes started the season with Sporting in August before his move to Wolves and a move to Liverpool is only likely to happen in the summer transfer window.
There is a belief that Liverpool will not be signing any players in the winter having agreed a deal for Cody Gakpo and it’s unclear how much they have left to spend in the window.
