Is Todd Boehly getting his transfer advice from social media?
Could Chelsea owner Todd Boehly be getting his transfer advice from social media?
It certainly seems unlikely, but there is no doubt that the Blues’ American owner is listening to the fans, having been caught listening to a Twitter Spaces chat.
Boehly primarily listened to a chat on which areas of the squad need to be strengthened in January and going ahead, with the supporters particularly drawing attention to Enzo Fernandez – a player that Chelsea appear to have turned their back on for the moment after failing to reach an agreement over a transfer fee with Benfica.

He reportedly left, however, after the topic of West Ham midfielder Declan Rice was brought up. Rice has long been linked with a return to Chelsea, where he played in the academy, but West Ham’s lavish asking price has so far put off suitors.

Chelsea's transfers under question
Meanwhile, Boehly’s overall transfer policy has drawn criticism from many corners.
Chelsea have spent over €500 million since the summer on players – including a world-record spend for a single transfer window – but their squad building policy has left them heavy on attacking midfielders and yet without a centre forward and looking light in central midfield.

The Blues have been very active in the January transfer window, signing four players to date, the latest of which was winger Mykhailo Mudryk for a fee that could rise to as much as €100 million from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Mudryk’s arrival at Chelsea is a particular coup for the club given that rivals Arsenal were thought to be leading the way for the player for much of the last six months.
Indeed, this led to the Stamford Bridge side trolling Arsenal along with Shakhtar on social media over the deal.
Meanwhile, there is nothing to suggest that Boehly or Chelsea is finished doing business in this transfer window yet.
