Tottenham are eyeing up a summer move for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, according to Nizaar Kinsella.

Spurs have been interested in Guehi since he left Chelsea for Palace for £18 million in 2021.

However, the 22-year-old's history with the Blues could make it difficult for Antonio Conte's side to bring him in.

Chelsea have a significant sell-on clause, meaning they would be due some of the transfer fee Palace receive from Spurs.

As a result, the Eagles are likely to value Guehi higher than he is worth to compensate for Chelsea taking a percentage.

The Blues also have an option to match any fee that Palace accept but they are not on the lookout for another defender.

Chelsea's centre-back conundrum

Benoit Badiashile's £35 million signing from Ligue 1 side Monaco has given Chelsea a centre-back conundrum.

Graham Potter now has the experience of Thiago Silva and Kalidou Koulibaly, as well as the youth of Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah and Badiashile to choose from.

Add to that, academy graduate Levi Colwill is beginning to excel on loan at Potter's former club Brighton.

The 19-year-old is an impressive athlete with an eye for a pass, meaning he could develop into the perfect centre-back for the modern game.

But his Chelsea future in unclear, especially now that fellow left-footer Badiashile has been signed.

Previously preferring to play with three central defenders, it seems that Potter is now looking to transition to a four defender formation.

Six centre-backs is simply too many when there are just two in the starting lineup, so one of them will have to be sold. Who will it be? Colwill?
