Jarrad Branthwaite is a man in demand, but Liverpool and Manchester United could be disappointed with the Everton-owned youngster enjoying his football at PSV Eindhoven

Branthwaite is on a season-long loan at PSV and the England youth international has impressed under former Manchester United star Ruud van Nistelrooy's guidance, playing 15 of their 21 games in the Eredivisie this season.

The hulking 6'5" centre-back has put in performances beyond his years, and PSV are keen to tie him down to a permanent deal before Liverpool and Man Utd - who have sent scouts to watch him - have had time to make their move.

The Premier League giants may have greater financial clout than the Dutch outfit, but Branthwaite thinks the possibility of being able to refine his craft in the Netherlands is an appealing one.

Madueke example

"It's a nice compliment that PSV want to keep me longer," he told Voetbal International. "I'm really enjoying myself here, so I'd certainly consider a longer stay at PSV. We'll see if it works out, my contract at Everton runs until 2025. That's still a long time and they'll undoubtedly have a plan with me."

Noni Madueke spent five years at PSV after leaving Tottenham Hotspur's youth academy in 2018, before sealing a €35 million return to England with Chelsea in January. Branthwaite thinks the winger's example is a good one.

"The route Noni's taken could be an example for me," he continued. "He's taken a nice step after a few seasons at PSV. We'll see what happens, it's something for later this season and not for now."

Branthwaite has averaged four clearances and three aerial challenges won per game this season, as well as completing four progressive passes and a shot-creating action per 90 minutes he has played.

The 20-year-old was rated at €2m in FootballTransfers' last release, but Everton will demand significantly more now that Branthwaite has attracted the interest of some of England's bigger hitters.
