‘Man Utd see Rashford as having greatest-ever striker potential’
Manchester United’s takeover will not affect Marcus Rashford’s future at the club, with the England international forward deemed to have the potential to become “one of the club’s greatest-ever strikers”, according to David Ornstein.
The takeover process is set to step up in the weeks ahead at Old Trafford, with Friday’s deadline for tabling bids having passed. Already it has been announced that Jim Ratcliffe has offered to buy the club, while there is also formal interest from Qatar.
Regardless of how this process works out, though, Man Utd are hopeful that Rashford will be a central figure for years to come.

The Red Devils’ resurgence in recent months has been spearheaded by the 25-year-old, who has scored 10 Premier League goals in his last 10 matches as Erik ten Hg’s men have dragged themselves onto the fringes of the title battle.
Out of contract in 2024, there is some doubt over what the future might hold for the in-form winger, yet Ornstein reports via The Athletic that Man Utd are cool over the situation.
It is reported that preliminary talks over a new long-term contract for Rashford have already taken place and that the uncertainty over Man Utd’s new owners will not have an impact on anything.
Indeed, Rashford is deemed “integral” to the playing staff at Old Trafford while he “is seen as having the potential to become one of the club’s greatest-ever strikers, even potentially challenging Wayne Rooney as their all-time leading goal scorer”.

Man Utd contract latest
Beyond Rashford, Man Utd are working on new deals for three stars who are out of contract imminently.
David de Gea could leave for nothing in the summer while the deals of Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot are up in 2024, but Ornstein reports that talks over new deals are progressing for the trio, who have all featured significantly in Ten Hag’s Man Utd plans over the last six months.
