Revealed: The Man Utd players whose values have doubled this season
Manchester United have enjoyed a resurgence under the management of Erik ten Hag, with the Old Trafford side still on the fringes of the Premier League title race in the Dutchman’s first season in charge.
Ten Hag’s revolution began in earnest last summer, when he plundered the Eredivisie to sign a string of leading players, with Antony the most expensive of these.
The Brazil international made a strong start to life at Old Trafford but has gone quiet in recent weeks. Indeed, after scoring on his first three Premier League appearances, he has not found the net since in the top flight. He did, however, register in an FA Cup win over Everton.

Antony, though, is the Man Utd player whose value has increased most significantly since July 2022, with his expected Transfer Value jumping from €32.7 million to €76m.
Despite this huge increase, it falls short of the €95m outlay that Man Utd paid Ajax for the winger, suggesting that he still needs to do more.
Lisandro Martinez, meanwhile, had already joined the Red Devils from the Amsterdam club for €57m. The Argentina star has also seen his valuation take a massive leap. Having been valued at €34.2m in July, he is now worth €57.9m. This near €24m increase is second-largest jump in the squad.

The third greatest climb, meanwhile, comes from another new arrival in the form of Tyrell Malacia, whose valuation has leapt from €8.9m to €20.2m.
Bruno Fernandes’ valuation has jumped €9m to €79.1m – the largest leap of the existing squad members – while Christian Eriksen is now worth €16.9, having been worth €12.7m when he arrived in July.
Man Utd's five biggest transfer value increases (July 2022-Feburary 2023)
Name | Increase (€m) | Percentage change |
---|---|---|
Antony | 43.3 | 232% |
Lisandro Martinez | 23.7 | 169% |
Tyrell Malacia | 11.3 | 227% |
Christian Eriksen | 4.2 | 133% |
Alejandro Garnacho | 1.6 | 329% |
Why Man Utd’s new signings top the list
It is no coincidence that Man Utd’s new signings have seen their valuations rise so quickly. All came from smaller clubs and by joining a force like United are naturally worth significantly more.
Meanwhile, the case of Marcus Rashford may be puzzling to Red Devils’ fans given his excellent form, but as he is now in the final 18 months of his contract, his value is flatlining. If and when he signs a new contract, look for his valuation to take a very significant jump.
