Arsenal learn Asensio's wage demands as Madrid contract talks collapse
Marco Asensio's wage demands have been revealed amid contract speculation.
Asensio is set to become a free agent at the end of June, and this has led to a string of clubs keeping tabs on the situation.
The Spaniard wants to stay at Real Madrid, who have offered him an extension worth €4 million per year, but he is asking for more.

Half a million lower than his current salary, the offer is said to reflect his influence on the team.
But the 27-year-old wants a wage increase to around €6m per year, according to Spanish outlet Marca, which Los Blancos are not interested in offering.
Arsenal are among the clubs chasing the midfielder, along with Barcelona and AC Milan.
What next for Marco Asensio?
With six goals and five assists, Asensio has chipped in with a valuable contribution for Real Madrid this season.
But having played just 1,141 minutes of competitive football across five different competitions, it could be the time for a new challenge.
Barcelona have been strongly linked with the Spain international, with the Catalans’ poor financial state meaning that they are forced to shop cheaply.
At the moment, Asensio and Ceballos are closer to leaving the club than staying.

But Barca could face major competition for the midfielder, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €22.7 million, with Arsenal and Milan targeting a deal.
According to Sport, both clubs have already held talks with Asensio’s entourage and are willing to make a bid.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are also monitoring the situation without having made a concrete approach yet.
