How Chelsea would line up with Frenkie de Jong
Chelsea have made Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong their top midfield target for the summer, according to Football Insider.
The Blues plan to sign a top-class central midfielder during the summer transfer window.
And football Insider reports that De Jong tops a four-man central midfield shortlist, also including Brighton’s Moises Caicedo, West Ham’s Declan Rice and Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham.

De Jong is considered the most acquirable of the four for Chelsea as Barcelona will listen to offers due to the financial problems engulfing the club.
The Blaugrana must reduce their wage bill by around €200 million before they are able to sign new players.
De Jong is one of the highest earners at the club and also one of the few players who can bring in a big transfer fee. The asking price is reported to be around €80m.
How Chelsea would line up with Frenkie de Jong
It is likely that Chelsea look for a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window but of the current crop, Kepa Arrizabalaga's ball-playing ability suits Potter's style more than Edouard Mendy.
Reece James and Ben Chilwell are any manager's dream for a full-back pairing, more than capable of defending and going forward.
Thiago Silva is exceptional but Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile are the future of Chelsea's central defence.
Enzo Fernandez has world-class potential but not in the defensive midfield position. He and N'Golo Kante would operate either side of de Jong, in a world-class midfield three.

Mykhailo Mudryk has endured a spell on the sidelines in recent weeks he is the future of Chelsea's left wing position.
Christopher Nkunku is set to join Chelsea in the summer from RB Leipzig. He looks like the Blues' best striker option until the Blues sign a 'number nine'.
Raheem Sterling is not producing at the same level as in his days at Manchester City but he deserves to stay in the team for now.
