The owners are currently in talks over a possible sale for their club, as fans hope for an end to their 18-year tenure.

The family have been accused of neglecting the club, with the stadium Old Trafford, on its last legs - and the training ground falling into disarray. They have also run the club into debt worth £500million.

Their latest antic has annoyed supporters still further - organising a San Diego friendly against Wrexham, with the cheapest seat costing £146.

News of the game was announced on Monday - with their Hollywood owners, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, linking up with Sir Alex Ferguson, to promote the match which will feature Man Utd academy stars.

But the game has infuriated fans who will have to pay a huge sum to enjoy the game at the Snapdragon Stadium.

If fans are willing to pay for some of the best seats, they will have to spend over £345 while the lower-cost ones will fetch a pretty penny too.

And the latest move has left fans furious over the prices, with some venting their frustration on Twitter.

Fans rage at Glazers

Man Utd football director John Murtough said the upcoming fixture would be a way to 'promote' youth. He told the club's site: “Manchester United has a history of nurturing and promoting youth and this is a chance for not only Erik but also our US supporters to assess the homegrown talent that is developing within our Academy, and hopefully to be able to say, ‘I saw him here first,’ if some of those players go on to establish themselves as first team regulars.”
