The 37-year-old striker has scored just two goals in 19 La Liga appearances for Rayo Vallecano in 2022-23, albeit only three have been starts.

He showed similarly dismal form at both United and Chelsea in the Premier league.

Four goals in 29 appearances for United in the 2014-15 season somehow earned him a loan move to Chelsea in the next campaign.

At the west London club, he registered just one goal in 12 games.

Now, Spanish outlet Marca are reporting that Malaysian club Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) want to sign Falcao to a two-year deal.

The move would also involve becoming an ambassador for the team, as well as the state of Johor, upon the expiration of his contract.

Falcao is reportedly interested in signing for JDT but is also of interest to La Liga club Valencia.

Who are JDT?

JDT are the dominant side in the Malaysian Super League, winning the last nine league titles.

They have also won two Malaysian FA Cups and three Malaysian Cups, as well as the 2015 AFC Cup - Asia's equivalent trophy to the Europa League.

Falcao would join former Watford forward Fernando Forestieri and ex-Swansea defender Jordi Amat should he accept the deal.
