Inter and Man Utd in Dumfries-Dalot swap
A summer swap deal involving Denzel Dumfries and Diogo Dalot switching clubs is possible, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Manchester United have been in talks to sign Inter Milan wing-back Dumfries for a number of months now.
Erik ten Hag has made the signing of a new starting right-back one of his priorities for the summer transfer window.
Premier League 2022/23 January transfers: All the Done Deals
United have opened talks to sign Dumfries from Inter, who are willing to sell the Dutchman.
Inter would then need to find a replacement and Dalot is one of the players on their shortlist.
Gazzetta reports that Inter would be willing to do an exchange with Man Utd that would see Dalot move the other way.
Dalot has been one of Man Utd’s surprise performers this season, establishing himself as a first-team regular and being one of the most consistent players in the squad.
But his contract expires in 2024 and he is aware that United are looking to sign a bigger and better right-back.
It is not clear yet whether United would agree to an exchange deal.
Dumfries wants Man Utd move
Dumfries has made it clear that he would like to move to the Premier League and there isn’t expected to be any problem in coming to an agreement over his contract and salary.
Inter are asking for a transfer fee of at least €50 million in order to sell Dumfries.
Chelsea are also interested in the Euro 2020 and World Cup 2022 star who has lost his first-team place this season at Inter.
As for Dalot, Barcelona are long-term admirers of the Portugal full-back.
