Man Utd plot transfer surprise with ‘sensational’ swap deal
Manchester United still hope to sign Denzel Dumfries of Inter and will try to broker a swap deal to make a transfer happen.
The Dutchman has long been of interest to Erik ten Hag's side. United would now like to make an attempt to swap the right-back for Victor Lindelof, who has fallen out of favour since Ten Hag was appointed.
The 28-year-old Swede has only played nine times in the Premier League this season, including just five starts. Last season, the 56-time international kicked off no fewer than 26 times in the top flight.

The centre-back has been with Manchester United since 2017, having joined from Benfica for €35 million. His current Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is €23.9m.
Dumfries, meanwhile, has long been a key transfer target for the Red Devils and Football Insider state that this interest persists.
Diogo Dalot is currently the starting right-back and has virtually no competition for his position. Moreover, the contract of the Portuguese expires in mid-2024 and it is not certain whether the 23-year-old back wants a longer stay in Manchester.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is currently considered a backup, but the 25-year-old former England U21 international is reportedly allowed to look for another club.
The 26-year-old Dumfries has been an Inter player since the summer of 2021. The Serie A side signed him from PSV for €14.25m. He has made 32 appearances for the club this season, scoring two goals and creating six assists.
The 42-time international was also part of the Dutch team for the World Cup in Qatar. He made an impression there in the quarter-final match against the United States (3-1 win) by creating the goals of Memphis Depay and Daley Blind and scoring the last goal of the match himself.
Man Utd face competition for Dumfries transfer
Manchester United are not the only team monitoring Dumfries.
In the Premier League, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are also mentioned as possible destinations.
Bayern Munich would also like the arrival of the fast full-back. At FCB, he is seen as the ideal replacement for Benjamin Pavard, who only has a contract until the summer of 2024 and has already spoken publicly about a possible 'new project'.
