Agent Trent softens up Bellingham for Liverpool move
Trent Alexander-Arnold revealed his motives after being seen with Jude Bellingham at a concert in last month, having sent Liverpool fans into overdrive over suggestions that he could convince the Dortmund midfielder to make the switch to Anfield this summer.
Bellingham is Liverpool’s top transfer target but the Reds face competition from Manchester City and Real Madrid for the Dortmund star, however Jurgen Klopp’s side are thought to be the frontrunners for the 19-year-old’s signature.
Alexander-Arnold and Bellingham enjoyed a close relationship during England’s 2022 World Cup campaign in Qatar and the pair were seen together watching Chris Brown perform in London last month, although the Liverpool man insisted their link up was purely coincidence.
REVEALED: Who Klopp would love to partner Jude Bellingham
“Yeah I went with him (Bellingham) as well,” the defender said, having previously seen the singer with Liverpool teammate Andy Robertson. “I didn’t take him (Robertson) to a concert, we all went together but I don’t think he was too enthusiastic to go.
“I don’t think he (Robertson) really cared for it that much but he got dragged along and ended up really enjoying it.
“I enjoyed the first concert so much that I decided to go again and he (Bellingham) was in town because he was meeting up with the national team, so we decided to go and everyone there enjoyed it.”
Bellingham could headline Liverpool midfield revolution
Bellingham is expected to leave Dortmund this summer, with the German side likely to demand in excess of £100 million for the England international.
The fee could prove to be a stumbling block for both Liverpool and Real but both clubs are still desperate to sign Bellingham and will push for a deal.
WARNING: Liverpool legend claims Bellingham must alter playstyle to join Reds
Liverpool may struggle to finance a deal if they fail to qualify for the Champions League, although Bellingham himself is still thought to be open to a move the club regardless.
Klopp’s side are keen to revitalise their midfield after a disappointing season, with Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner all out of contract this summer.
