Chelsea move to replace Frank Lampard with Spurs target
Chelsea are edging closer to replacing Frank Lampard with one of Tottenham's top targets.
The Blues are preparing to interview former Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann, according to Bild.
Bayern replaced Nagelsmann, controversially, with ex-Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel last month.
The 35-year-old had been touted as one of the most promising managers in Europe prior to the Bayern move.
But his recent sacking has not convinced Premier League clubs Chelsea and Tottenham that he is not capable of leading them to success.
In fact, he is at the top of both of their managerial shortlists. Nagelsmann's preference would be to join the Blues.
Chelsea's managerial situation
Frank Lampard is currently in charge of Chelsea, who was brought in to replace Graham Potter for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.
Barring a miraculous Champions League run, his will not get the job on a permanent basis, so the Blues hierarchy are looking at several other candidates.
The two at the top of the list appear to be Nagelsmann and former Barcelona and Spain head coach Luis Enrique.

But it is Nagelsmann who is set to be interviewed first, according to reports in Germany, as Chelsea potentially look to see off interest from their London rivals.
While the German is undoubtedly an excellent coach, there are concerns over his ability to lead big egos.
This is the same criticism that Potter received in his time at Stamford Bridge.
Perhaps, Nagelsmann's tactical nous will win the players over, but it seems an almighty risk for the Chelsea owners to take.
Enrique, on the other hand, has dealt with Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez on the way to winning a treble - food for thought.
