Julian Nagelsmann responds to Chelsea links

Julian Nagelsmann is not keen on replacing Graham Potter at Chelsea.

Sky Germany reports that the manager, who recently left Bayern Munich, is among the shortlist of options the Blues are looking at if Potter was sacked.

But the Mirror are now saying that Nagelsmann is in no rush to get into a new job and will wait until the summer to make a decision - meaning that should Chelsea fire Potter, they would bring in someone else ahead of Nagelsmann.

The German has also been linked with the vacant manager's role at Tottenham, after Antonio Conte left the side. Following their 2-0 loss to Aston Villa, reports are that Chelsea chairman Todd Boehly is still backing Potter in the short term.

The Blues, who are currently heading for their worst league finish since 1996, remain in the Champions League but their current Premier League spot - 11th - means they are hugely unlikely to gain entry next year via the league.

The side host Liverpool in their next fixture before travelling to Wolves. Then they will face Real Madrid at the Bernabeu in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie.

Potter takes blame

After the loss to Villa on Saturday, Potter took the blame and said they will now have to analyse things to move forward.

"After a defeat there is always a disappointment," Potter told BBC Sport. "There is always a feeling we have not moved forward, that's fair to say. We have to analyse the performance and look at the things we've done well and what we can do better.

"Defensively we've left ourselves too open but again if you look at the stats of the game we had chances ourselves, we had one-v-ones, but the most important thing, putting the ball into the net, we were second-best.

"I don't like to blame anybody, I have to take responsibility. We are a team, we have to stay together, we are together. We win or lose together.

"We will recover and we will prepare for the next game. We need to respond, that's clear. But we look forward to it."
