Kabak reveals three Bundesliga wonderkids ready for Liverpool

Former Liverpool defender Ozan Kabak has chosen the three Bundesliga wonderkids he believes are ready to make the step up to play for the Reds.

The Hoffenheim centre-back played for Liverpool for the second half of the 2020-21 season, having been drafted in as injury cover by Jürgen Klopp.

With Virgil van Dijk sidelined, Liverpool paid a £1 million loan fee to Schalke for the Turkey international, who played 13 times during his stint on Merseyside.

Kabak knows all about the step up from the German top flight to playing for Liverpool, but has picked the players he thinks are most likely to be able for that challenge.

"There is a lot of young talent here," Kabak told FootballTransfers. "Jude Bellingham is a very good player, and at Leverkusen, you have Florian Wirtz too. But here at Hoffenheim, we have Tom Bischof as well."

Bellingham has been the subject of transfer speculation for Liverpool and still remain in the hunt for the Borussia Dortmund and England midfielder despite reports claiming they had ended their interest.

Bayer Leverkusen's Wirtz had long been linked with top clubs, and the 19-year-old remains one of the highest-valued under-21 players in the world, despite missing much of this season with injury.

However, Wirtz may be out of Liverpool's price range right now, with the club quoted a record fee for the attacking midfielder.

Who is Tom Bischof

Bischof is a name that may not be familiar to football fans outside of Germany, but the 17-year-old is hugely rated at Hoffenheim having broken club records to become their youngest player in history last season.

The versatile left-footed attacking midfielder has seven goals in 16 games for Germany's U17 side and has already made his debut for the U18s.

Additionally, he has been part of the Hoffenheim squad this season under new head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo, playing 10 times in the Bundesliga as well as all three of the club's German Cup games.

He has been called Germany's 'new Gotze' and even was linked with Bayern Munich when Julian Nagelsmann was in the dugout.
