Liverpool's three midfield targets after losing Bellingham
Liverpool have drawn up plans to revamp their midfield this summer after losing out on Jude Bellingham, with three players in particular believed to be on their shortlist.
With the likes of Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all out of contract at the end of the season, Liverpool are aware they need to spread their budget across multiple avenues to rejuvenate their midfield after a disappointing season.
The club are planning to target two or three midfielders this summer, with Chelsea’s Mason Mount believed to be their top target, while Alexis MacAllister of Brighton and Bayern Munich youngster Ryan Gravenberch are also high on Liverpool’s shortlist.
Liverpool are aware their targets are in demand by a host of clubs.
Which of Liverpool’s targets could they realistically sign?
Mount is out of contract with Chelsea next summer and talks over a new deal have broken down, although owner Todd Boehly is believed to be determined to strike an agreement with the 24-year-old.
MacAllister’s agent has confirmed that a Brighton exit is likely this summer following the Argentine’s impressive campaign, which has seen him net eight Premier League goals and lift the World Cup.
COSTLY: Mason Mount's wage demands could prove stumbling block for Liverpool
Gravenberch is a player who Liverpool were keen on before he joined Bayern from Ajax last summer but the German side are believed to be reluctant to sanction a sale, despite a slow start to his career with the club.
Moises Caicedo is another target for Klopp’s side, with the Brighton star also expected to leave this summer, while Matheus Nunes of Wolves and Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher are also stated to be on the Reds’ shortlist ahead of a busy summer.
