Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool battle to land World Cup winner - Romano
Fabrizio Romano has issued an important update on the future of Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, stating that the Argentina international midfielder could be one of the first big moves of the summer transfer window.
The World Cup winner is one of a string of Brighton players to have caught the eye this season, with the likes of Moises Caicedo, Kaoru Mitoma and Evan Ferguson among those to have been courted by big clubs ahead of the close season.
Mac Allister, though, is set to spark a huge transfer scramble, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Man Utd all interested in the player, according to the football transfer specialist.

Alexis Mac Allister transfer latest
“From what I understand, Alexis Mac Allister is planning for a summer move. He’s waiting and hoping for a summer transfer. The expectation is that he will get his important move in the summer,” he told his YouTube channel.
“You have to respect Brighton as always – we know they are tough in negotiations – but the expectation is for Mac Allister to receive important bids in the summer and so for him to go and have a different opportunity for his future.
“The Argentinian midfield, at this moment, has three clubs interested in signing him.

“One of them is Chelsea. Chelsea are looking forward a new midfielder and exploring many options. Manu Kone [of Borussia Monchengladbach] is a player they like but there’s no official bid yet. Let’s add Chelsea in the race for Mac Allister because they appreciate the player. But they are not alone and the race is not decided yet.
“Liverpool are also interested in Mac Allister. They have asked for information. I told you about Caicedo from Brighton, but they also want Mac Allister. There will be contact from Liverpool to understand the condition of the deal.
“But also Manchester United.”
“At the moment, I’m not aware of any enquiry from Manchester City or any other English club. There’s also been rumours about Arsenal, but at the moment these three clubs are in the race: Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.
“The player will take his time and will speak to those close to him to decide his future. He could be an early move in the market.”
Although it is unclear where Mac Allister may go, Man Utd's interest in Jude Bellingham, who appears to be their top target, could put them at a disadvantage in this case.
