Romano reveals why ‘Marcus Rashford was very unhappy’
Fabrizio Romano has lifted the lid on the future of Marcus Rashford at Manchester United by outlining the attacker’s current situation and revealing why the England star has been left frustrated this week.
Rashford has been Man Utd’s key player since returning from the World Cup, scoring at a prolific rate and playing a key role as Erik ten Hag’s side seek to ensure European football next season.

The long-term future of the 25-year-old, though, remains a little unclear. He has a deal with United that carries him through until June 2024, with the option of an additional year, but there is interest coming, too, from PSG.
Romano, meanwhile, says that Rashford is frustrated at rumours suggesting that he is asking for massive terms to sign a new contract.

Marcus Rashford contract latest
On his YouTube channel, he explained: “Marcus Rashford was not happy a few days ago when he Tweeted and posted on social media accounts about the stories about his salary. From what I understand, the negotiations between Manchester United and Marcus Rashford are still not at the final stages so they are not going to sign him in some days. But the negotiations are there: Man Utd are speaking with the player.
“What I want to clarify is that Rashford is not happy with those rumours about the salary request – something crazy around his salary.
“Marcus Rashford is really happy at Manchester United. He can see the future at Man Utd because he can see the future with the ideas of Erik ten Hag, who changed his career. So he’s very happy at Manchester United. He’s very focused there, on the pitch, scoring goals, helping the team. So Rashford is not asking anything crazy at this stage.
“But at the moment, it’s still not the time to sign contracts or to say an agreement has been reached. It will take some time.”
Rashford, who has 15 Premier League goals for the season, is likely to lead the line against Everton on Saturday after getting the winner against Brentford in midweek.
