Man Utd starting XI in three years
With the Qatari takeover on the horizon, Manchester United fans can afford to look to the future with wide eyes.
There is already a catalogue of huge names linked to the northwest side. But some of the same players keep popping up - those who are quite clearly on Erik ten Hag’s wishlist, though it would come only with some huge investment in the upcoming summer transfer window and beyond.
Following the news that Alejandro Garnacho has agreed to fresh terms with the club until 2028 and is set to be a future star, FootballTransfers has forged a starting XI that Man Utd could be lined up with in three years’ time.

In goal, we have David Raya of Brentford, as David De Gea will be of veteran age and likely out of the club by 2026. To the right side of the defence is Jeremie Frimpong, the spritely Dutchman currently at Bayer Leverkusen.
Jean-Clair Tobido, currently at Nice, makes a centre-back pairing with the formidable Lisandro Martinez, last summer’s addition Tyrell Malacia is on the left side of the backline. Khephren Thuram acts as the No.6,, with Bruno Fernandes playing slightly more advanced in midfield.
Marcus Rashford takes up his natural position on the left-side, acting as a supplementally centre-forward. Mohammed Kudus acts as the No.10, while Alejandro Garnacho sits on the opposite side - Victor Osimhen acts as the No.9.
It’s a side only a team with huge aspirations of making it in the title race can make - money will have to be spent to make such a line-up realised, but with the possible takeover of the Qataris, anything is possible for the Red Devils going into the future.
The Qatari takeover
It comes after the news that the Qatari group looking for a full takeover of Manchester United have made an improved bid for the club.
The group have launched an offer of just over the £5 billion mark. The Glazers' valuation, however, is £6 billion, so there are fears that it the bid submitted by Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani tonight has come in a bit short.
Nevertheless, if accepted it will break the world record for a sports franchise - with the 10pm final deadline looming.
Sheikh Jassim’s bid is thought to be the only one for full control of the side - with an attempt made for 100% of the club.
If accepted his bid would buy out the Glazers and all other shareholders - bringing an end to the American’s 18-year reign, the Daily Mail report.
