Man Utd's transfer plans shot down by club legend
Former Manchester United star Dimitar Berbatov has weighed in on his old club’s transfer plans, urging them to sign Victor Osimhen over Harry Kane.
Man Utd are set to be in the market for a new number nine this summer, having parted ways with Cristiano Ronaldo back in November and plugged the gap by signing Wout Weghorst on loan in January.
Osimhen and Kane continue to be the two biggest names touted to solve that need, and Berbatov believes Serie A champions-elect Napoli’s prolific Nigerian international – who has amassed 26 goals in 31 games in all competitions this season – would be a more sensible option for Erik ten Hag’s side than Tottenham’s all-time leading scorer

Speaking to GOAL, Berbatov – who, as a Man Utd player, shared the 2010/11 Premier League Golden Boot – explained:
“You cannot argue with the goalscoring record of Harry Kane. He is one of the best of his generation in how he scores goals; how he plays the game; how he sees the game. And he’s unbelievable.
“But the one concern I have is [his] age: he is [almost] 30, so nobody’s getting any younger. And in my mind, this is going to be a major concern if someone is going to buy him”.
Osimhen's the man for Man Utd
As far as Berbatov is concerned, Osimhen ought to make his way to Old Trafford. He continued:
“It’s so difficult because you need someone who’s going to score goals – someone who’s going to be the right age so he can develop and get better and better and better, so you have…him for years to come. In my mind, that is Osimhen.
“He’s having an unbelievable season and he’s doing great stuff – so this is the type of player I’d like to see for United.
