"Trent out, Liverpool have a chance" - Twitter reacts to Alexander-Arnold benching
Trent Alexander Arnold has been dropped to the bench for Liverpool's Premier League meeting with Chelsea on Tuesday evening, sending Twitter into an inevitable meltdown.
Alexander-Arnold has come in for considerable criticism already this season, his abject defensive performances some of the reason Jurgen Klopp has endured his worst ever campaign as Liverpool manager.
The England right-back endured a torrid time as Manchester City beat the Reds 4-1 on Saturday, repeatedly coming off second-best against his international teammate Jack Grealish.
Some rotation might be expected with a hectic run of fixtures which sees Liverpool take on league leaders Arsenal next Sunday, but while Mo Salah and Andy Robertson were spared Twitter's vitriol, Trent was not.
Not that everybody thought he deserved the 'rest'…
NAHHH WHY TRENT IS ON THE BENCH TODAY?!?😭😭😭😭😭

I still feel Liverpool need to playTrent in midfield. Trent where Milner is wins this game for them with many many goals https://t.co/HnLFVpgJuO

Salah, Gakpo, Trent and Robbo on the bench in a must win game. Jones starts alongside Horrenderson and Fabinho.
