Mikel Arteta’s side hold a five-point lead over Manchester City and are ten games away from securing a first Premier League title in nearly 20 years, although they still have to play their rivals.

The Gunners will seek to add depth to their side this summer, having suffered injuries to the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Mohamed Elneny and Thomas Partey throughout the campaign.

STRIKERS: The five men on Arsenal's shortlist

Arteta is understood to be targeting multiple midfielders, a forward and options in defence, with further dealings depending on whether Arsenal can cash in on fringe players to raise funds.

Arsenal have been long-time admirers of a host of Leicester’s players and they may have no better opportunity to target their stars, with the Foxes struggling in the league and with financial restraints.

Which Leicester stars could Arsenal move for?

One player who could once again be on Arsenal’s radar is Youri Tielemans, with the Gunners having considered signing the Belgian at various points in recent years.

The 25-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and was previously keen on a move to the Emirates, although Arsenal have since singed Jorginho, meaning the need for Tielemans is less pressing now.

NEW CHALLENGER APPEARS: Arsenal set to miss out on Tielemans

Arsenal have had concerns over Partey and Elneny’s fitness, with has often left Arteta struggling at defensive midfield, and a move for Tieleman’s midfield partner Wilfried Ndidi could make more sense for the Gunners.

Declan Rice is thought to be Arsenal’s priority target in midfield, along with Moises Caicedo, but both players may represent more costly options than Ndidi, who is out of contract in 2024.

Another player entering the final 12 months of their deal is James Maddison and the England international will likely be available for a cut-price deal, offering a tempting option to Arsenal due to his versatility and creativity.

The Gunners could also target Timothy Castagne, the Belgian who could offer a more attacking option to Takehiro Tomiyasu and Ben White at right-back, meaning Arsenal have plenty of options should they wish to target Leicester for their squad building goals.
