Pochettino's Chelsea revolution BEGINS as the first star gets OFFLOADED

The first casualty of Mauricio Pochettino's Chelsea revolution is set to be Ruben Loftus-Cheek, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The midfielder has earned a reputation for being Chelsea's nearly man, showing lots of potential but struggling to nail down a consistent starting spot. At 27, Loftus-Cheek is still not a Premier League starter and it may finally be time to move on in order to earn regular minutes.

Chelsea will not stand in his way in that endeavour. On the contrary, they will facilitate a move seeing as though they have a bloated squad following their €600 million spending spree this season.

In order to be able to bring in yet more fresh faces this summer - which they are keen to do under soon-to-be-announced head coach Mauricio Pochettino - they will have to operate with a one in, one out policy and Loftus-Cheek is to be the first casualty of this new approach.

With his contract set to expire next term, the Blues are keen to cash in on their academy product now, and they have already found a buyer.

An Englishman in Milan

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 27-year-old is on the verge of joining Champions League semi-finalists AC Milan.

"From what I understand," the Italian told his 1.61 million YouTube subscribers, "one of the first outgoings to complete in the next few days - we know they have to be smart with that, they have to sell or offload players as soon as possible in June, this is going to be a priority for Chelsea - [is] for Ruben Loftus-Cheek."

"Milan are in very advanced talks. From what I understand, AC Milan are really pushing on that one."

"Negotiations have advanced between the clubs, the player is open to the move, now there is still time to discuss the terms of this deal between clubs and the player's side, but the conversation is concrete, is advanced."
