Arsenal are set to secure the future of exciting attacker Bukayo Saka for the foreseeable future, with the England international expected to sign a new contract with the Emirates side imminently.

Saka has enjoyed another stellar season with the Gunners, notching up career-best totals in both Premier League goals and assists as Mikel Arteta’s side have confounded critics by keeping the title race going to the final weeks of the season.

Although he has been one of Arsenal’s most important players over the course of more than two years now, Saka’s present contract does not pay him close to his current squad status.

That is all set to change, though, with the 21-year-old, who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €86.1 million, close to penning a new deal.

Reports from the Independent on Monday suggesting an announcement is close have been verified by Fabrizio Romano.

“Bukayo Saka will sign new contract soon as it’s only matter of time. It was agreed two months ago, it’s sealed — there are no changes,” he tweeted. “New deal will be valid until June 2028 — Arsenal announcement expected soon.”

His current deal is up in 2024, which had led to speculation that Manchester City could make a summer bid for him if no new agreement was in place.

Bukayo Saka’s new Arsenal wage

Saka will earn £300,000 per week with this new Arsenal contract, according to reports from March, meaning that he will earn £15.6 million annually. This represents a huge jump from his current deal, which sees him pocket £3.6m each year, or £70,000 a week.

Over the course of his new five-year contract, Saka will earn £78m.

Gooners will feel that this is money well invested, given what he brings to the team and that a transfer fee for a similar replacement would likely be more than this figure.

Saka is now set to be one of Arsenal’s leading earners. Gabriel Jesus reportedly pockets £15.9m per year, but given the bonus structure in such deals, it is possible that Saka will recoup more than the Brazil international.
