Liverpool have confirmed that Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will leave the club this summer.

All four players are out of contract at Anfield at the end of next month, with manager Jurgen Klopp already having confirmed that Firmino would be moving on.

It remains to be seen where the popular striker will end up – but veteran utility man Milner, the Reds’ vice-captain, has been strongly linked with a switch to Brighton.

Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain’s dual departure could prove to be the start of a wider midfield clear-out at Anfield during the upcoming transfer window, with Liverpool badly needing to revamp that department ahead of next summer.

Having only joined the Reds from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2018, Keita is the shortest-serving of the quartet – all of whom won the 2019/20 Premier League title under Klopp.

Oxlade-Chamberlain arrived at the club in 2017, while Firmino and Milner are both about to bring the curtain down on eight-year spells with the 2018/19 European champions.

A wealth of experience on the way out of Anfield

Firmino will leave Liverpool having become one of the club’s highest Premier League scorers: only five players – among them current teammate Mo Salah – have found the net more times in the competition for the Reds.

The pearly-toothed Brazilian – a firm favourite with Reds fans – has also made the most Liverpool appearances out of the departing foursome – with Milner not far behind.

While Firmino and Milner have remained relatively regular involved up to and including this season, Keita’s final campaign at Anfield has been typically injury-hit – while Oxlade-Chamberlain has fallen down the pecking order, featuring just 13 times in all competitions in 2022/23.
