Manchester United remain keen on Adrien Rabiot but have yet to make an official approach for the midfielder, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Rabiot is out of contract at Juventus this summer, and Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag is said to be a huge admirer of the French international.

It is thought that the 28-year-old will make a decision on his future next month – and he could yet stay at Juve.

In his Tuesday morning transfer round-up on YouTube, Romano explained United’s position with regards to Rabiot. The transfer expert said:

“Manchester United have confirmed their interest to the camp of Adrien Rabiot. They are pursuing the player; Erik ten Hag is [a] big fan of the player; he wanted Rabiot almost one year ago …

“At the moment, there is still no official bid – just some [contact] – but Adrien Rabiot also has a proposal from Juventus to extend [his contract] … Adrien Rabiot will decide in June his future, but for sure Manchester United still appreciate the player …”

A player in his prime

Rabiot joined Juventus on a free transfer in 2019, having spent the first seven years of his career with PSG.

It’s been a season to forget for Juve, who look set to miss out on Champions League football next term after being hit with a 10-point deduction on Monday – but Rabiot has enjoyed one of the best campaigns of his career.

That’s certainly been the case from a goalscoring perspective: he’s found the net 11 times in all competitions for Massimiliano Allegri’s side – as well as bagging France’s first goal at the 2022 World Cup.
