Man Utd star linked with SHOCK transfer to Premier League rivals
Manchester United midfielder Fred could be on his way out of Old Trafford, according to reports.
The Brazilian's time with the Red Devils has been a mixed bag and his signing won't go down as one of United's finest. In recent years, Fred came to typify the pitiful recruitment and underperformance that became standard practice during Manchester United's 'banter era.'
Even Sir Jim Ratcliffe, currently vying for ownership of United, took a shot at Fred in a 2019 interview, essentially calling him a waste of money. Considering his performances after arriving, the €59 million United parted with to sign him from Shakhtar Donetsk certainly did appear to have been wasted.

While likely still not fully redeemed, Fred has at least looked much improved lately, though most of his appearances under Erik ten Hag have come off the bench. In his 35 Premier League outings, the 30-year-old has contributed with two goals and two assists.
With Ten Hag set to offload some deadwood this summer, Fred could be one of the names cut from the United roster.
Three clubs interested
According to 'global transfer expert' Ekrem Konur, there are three Premier League clubs "monitoring the situation of Manchester United's 30-year-old Brazilian player Fred." The sides in question are said to be Everton, Fulham and Wolves.
Any of those three clubs would be something of a step down for the Brazilian but it could be just what he needs since he likely won't be content with sitting on the bench next season especially with Ten Hag eyeing midfield reinforcements.

With his contract running for just one more year, selling him now would be ideal for United as it would bring in a bit of money to alleviate some of the uncertainty surrounding next season's budget.
It could also be a good deal for the buyer as the 30-year-old won't command a massive fee, with his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) falling from a peak of €37.4 million to just €18.8m over the last 12 months.
