EXCLUSIVE: Rodgers OFFERED Tottenham job with Potter, Luis Enrique on standby
Brendan Rodgers has been formally offered the opportunity to become the next Tottenham manager, FootballTransfers has learned.
Spurs, though, are keeping their options open, Graham Potter and Luis Enrique also on their shortlist should the former Liverpool boss knock them back.
Tottenham have been seeking a replacement for Antonio Conte for weeks but have been luckless in their pursuit of several leading candidates, including former Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann.

The latest blow came to the London club on Thursday, when it emerged that leading candidate Arne Slot of Feyenoord would not join the Premier League side. It had been widely anticipated that he would take the job after leading the Rotterdam outfit to the Eredivisie title this season, with star players Orkun Kukcu and Santiago Gimenez even touted to join him.
Instead, though, the Tottenham board have formally offered the post to former Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester manager Rodgers, who has been out of work since April, when he was dismissed as Foxes boss as they struggled towards the foot of the Premier League table after a frustrating campaign.
FootballTransfers understands that Spurs are trying to keep a low profile to avoid any further embarrassment in this case and will not say publicly that Rodgers has been offered the position. There is still the possibility that he could reject the deal, which is by no means done.
EXCLUSIVE: Brendan Rodgers to bring Tielemans and Maddison to Spurs
The Northern Irishman is not thought to be a favourite of chairman Daniel Levy, but it appears that the board are otherwise all for the 50-year-old.
Should he knock them back, former Brighton and Chelsea manager Graham Potter is in the frame along with former Barcelona, Roma and Spain head coach Luis Enrique.
What happened with Arne Slot?
Rodgers takes over as frontrunner for the Tottenham manager post from Arne Slot, who sent an earthquake through the London club on Thursday with comments to the media in the Netherlands.
Slot said: “I have been hearing a lot of rumours going around about other club’s interest in me. Although I am thankful, my wish is to stay at Feyenoord and continue working on what we created last year.
“There is not - and there has not been - transfer conversation and yesterday’s meeting was exclusively for an extension. All talks with the club have always been only in that sense. I’m looking forward to next season with Feyenoord.”
