Next Tottenham manager: PSG land Spurs blow with 'new priority'

Tottenham Hotspur's coaching choices have been narrowed down by Paris Saint-Germain making Luis Enrique their 'new priority.'

Spurs' search for a new boss is still ongoing two months after Antonio Conte was sacked following an explosive post-match interview during which the Italian threw his players and the club hierarchy under the bus.

The North London side have been linked with plenty of names, including Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique. In recent times, Feyenoord coach Arne Slot was considered the favourite for the job, with his agent Rafaela Pimenta reportedly trying to force through a move, but the Dutchman has officially ruled himself out of contention.

Former Chelsea boss Graham Potter, sacked shortly after Conte, is also a name on Spurs' shortlist, but as we exclusively reported earlier today, ex-Leicester coach Brendan Rodgers has been formally offered the job following an internal power struggle, with Potter on standby should the 50-year-old reject the offer.

Backing up our reporting are news coming out of France that Luis Enrique is PSG's new target to take over from Christophe Galtier next season.

'Top of the list'

According to La Parisien, Enrique is now 'at the top of the list' at PSG, who have been prominently linked with former Chelsea and Spurs boss Jose Mourinho as well as one of their former players in Thiago Motta.

Footmercato writes: "The former La Roja coach meets a lot of criteria: high-level experience, knowledge of [working at] big clubs, a good track record in addition to having the advantage of being a free agent."

With PSG able to muster more resources, this will narrow down Tottenham's potential coaching options, making the appointment of Brendan Rodgers more likely. This may not go down well with the Spurs faithful seeing as though the 50-year-old steered Leicester into a relegation battle this season.
